Chair designed by Franco Albini for the Pirovano Mountain Lodge in Cervinia, produced by Poggi, Pavia in 1951. Made of solid fir wood, it features a shaped seat, a backrest composed of two sections joined by a dovetail mortise-and-tenon crosspiece, and four tapered legs.
The chair was created as part of the project for the youth mountain lodge in Cervinia, initiated in 1949 on commission from the mountaineer Giuseppe Pirovano and completed by Albini in 1952 in collaboration with Luigi Colombini. Originally conceived as a private house with an attached ski school, the building represents one of the most innovative and significant examples of post-war Italian modern architecture.
