
Chair model 683, designed by Carlo De Carli for Cassina in 1954.
Fully demountable, it is made of solid ash wood, bent plywood, and metal. The seat and backrest are attached to the structure by small exposed brass joints. The model was awarded the first Compasso d’Oro in 1954, received the Diploma of Honour at the 10th Milan Triennale, and won the Good Design Award at the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA), New York.
