The exhibition brings together around one hundred lamps and objects signed by Carlo Nason, a key figure in the design of Murano glass lighting. It is a journey through his most famous creations and rarest pieces, where artisanal tradition and innovation meet in perfect balance.
Carlo Nason: The Master of Glass Light
Born in Murano in 1935, Nason comes from one of the oldest glassmaking families on the island. Raised among furnaces and workshops, he successfully combined the centuries-old tradition of blown glass with a minimalist and innovative aesthetic influenced by Scandinavian design.
From the 1960s, he collaborated with iconic companies such as Mazzega, Selenova, Kalmar, ITre, Murano Due, and de Majo, experimenting with new techniques and creating lamps with strong visual impact. His poetic layering of glass sheets and use of plate glass for unique material effects made his style instantly recognizable.
His creations have spanned eras and contexts, reaching a broad and diverse audience, and even appearing in famous TV series during the 1980s.
An Unmissable Exhibition
Following the ANNI LUCE. ARREDOLUCE. 100 LAMPS exhibition dedicated to Arredoluce, Fragile continues its commitment to promoting historic design with this retrospective dedicated to Carlo Nason.
The exhibition will be accompanied by a catalog published by Silvana Editoriale, curated by Rosa Chiesa and Alessandro Zannoni.
